Model United Nations, also known as Model UN or MUN, is an educational model of the United Nations used for simulations in which students learn about diplomacy and international relations. At a MUN conference, each student works as the representative of a country, organization, or person, and must solve a problem with other delegates from around the world.
MUN focuses on research, public speaking, debating, writing, critical thinking, teamwork, and leadership. While MUN is typically used as an extracurricular activity, some schools also offer it as a class. MUN is intended to develop students’ deeper understanding into current world issues and world politics while leading the most prestigious educational event.
Letter From Secretary
Dear Participants
It is a great pleasure and honor to invite you to the first session of Muğla Science High School Model United Nations
(MFLMUN). I, Ata Ozan Mavi, am excited and proud to serve as the Secretary General of this conference.
I am a 10th grade student at Muğla
Science High School. From a young age, I have seen environmental problems as a big problem and at the same time an issue that needs to be solved.
When I grew up, I developed some projects to solve these problems. However, I realized that these projects did not reach a wide audience.
In this process, we discovered that MUN conferences are an effective event in improving social and individual awareness. Now, with MFLMUN,
we aim to bring this awareness to an important audience and to produce solutions through our nature theme.
This year, MFLMUN's theme is
“Nature”. By addressing critical issues such as climate change, resource consumption and ecosystem imbalance, this conference aims not only
to discuss these problems, but also to develop innovative and sustainable solutions with people who have the same goal as you,so that you can
understand the root of these problems and build quality friendships. And our conference will provide you with the opportunity to discuss your
ideas in the most appropriate committees in line with these goals, giving you not only a free environment, but also the opportunity to have fun.
As the MFLMUN Secretariat, we have organized the conference in such a way that it is not only an event, but also an opportunity for
delegates to explore their leadership and analytical potential, gain awareness of global issues, and socialize and get to know people who have
the same goal as them. We aim to be a step for us, the young people who will create the future of the world, to lead the world in the best way
possible.
We invite you to think together to develop solutions to environmental problems and discover your leadership potential. If you
